Independent British Brands Were The Real Winners At The 2025 Fashion Awards

Staged at Kensington’s Royal Albert Hall, The Fashion Awards serve as a yearly toast to the milestones and achievements of the global fashion industry. Last night was no exception – among the international recipients was South Sudanese-American supermodel Anok Yai – who took home the Model of the Year award in Dilara Findikoğlu, this year’s Vanguard category winner – while Dior CEO and LVMH Prize founder Delphine Arnaut and Italian patriarch of quiet luxury, Brunello Cucinelli, were honoured with special recognition awards in touching speeches by Anna Wintour and Sharon Stone, respectively.

The nature of its location, however, means that the affair is inevitably a major moment for British design talent – in particular, the many independent labels that give the country’s fashion scene its lifeblood. Below, hear from the designers behind some of the night’s standout moments by indie Brit brands.

Ashley Graham wearing Feben

Feben’s work has always embodied elegance with an edge, and few looks illustrate that off-kilter glamour quite like the one she created for supermodel Ashley Graham. A decadently sequined gown in sunshine yellow with a split up to the thigh, the look was a testament to Graham’s status as a longtime fan of the brand. “The look has a rock-y element to it,” says Feben. “My work is always a play on high and low – I’m interested in this balance because of my own background, growing up in a small town in Sweden where rock was a big part of my youth, and the inherent grit of being a London-based designer.” Grunge deluxe never looked more glam.
